BCBMX RACING NEWS - April 2007
Welcome to April's edition of the BMX Newsletter. As promised in March, read on to find out about a few of the changes being implemented at national level.
National Series
This year's series has a title and supporting sponsor. Look out for info on this year's series sponsors later in the week.
Race Fees
These have changed for this year and are listed below. This is the first change to race fees for quite a few years. They reflect an increased cost in the
provision of events while recognising that BMX is a family sport.
Riders racing 2 bikes get their 2nd entry fee for £5.00.
Novice race fee will be £5.00.
Riders aged 16 and under race fee is £15.00.
Riders aged 17 & over race fee is £20.00.
Elite race fee is £25.00.
Junior Female and 16-29 Cruiser race fee is £20.00.
Second family member entry discount of £5.00 and 3rd entry discount of £10.00.
Day Licence
This applies to one event only and the choice of event is yours. If you turn up to a double header without your licence, you can only race one round. The cost
to race will increase for riders aged 19 and over by £10.00, riders aged 17 & 18 £5.00, riders aged 16 and under £1.50. This has been
implemented to allow riders to get a taste for big events without making the full season commitment.
If you require a licence and need one for Cheddar, you need to do this this week, as next week is too late. Call 0161 274 2010 or go to the
British Cycling website.
Categories
Same as last year, except there's no elite cruiser. Although BC BMX discussed more classes with a payback option, there's just not enough in the kitty.
Schedule
Please read below for this year's practice times, which now reflect that riders wanted more track time. Please look out for announcements from the host club on Friday evening practice. This is optional for each club, so please don't just turn up Friday and expect to ride.
